Hi and welcome to Dapple Tree Farm. We are a small family hobby farm managed for fun. We strive to provide a safe, relaxing and ecologically reponsible environment for ourselves, our animals and our friends. We keep and train three horses, Pinky, Kit and Freedom, and we raise chickens for eggs. We treat our animals as family members. We value and honor traditions and heritage, while applying modern principles to protect our family and our Earth.

Jerry and I (Ellen) live on our hobby farm in central Oklahoma. Our primary goals for our farm (short and long term) are:
u Provide a comfortable home for our family, pets and horses
u Rescue horses in need and retrain if needed.
u Raise chickens to provide fresh eggs for our family
u Sell farm fresh eggs
u Be self sufficient

Dapple Cottage
Dapple Cottage is nearly 100 years old. It was a kit home built in the early part of the 1900s, similar to one by sears. I rented the cottage until two years ago, when I bought it. Because of the age of the home, there is a LOT of work to be done. Our list is 3 pages long. Since I bought it, we have worked on the necessary improvements. We re-roofed, painted, fenced in the back yard and cleared a bunch of the back pasture of scrub trees. We have some work left to do on the metal roof and are updating the kitchen.

Dapple Tree Farm
We have just purchased our new property: a 5 acre farm in central Oklahoma.  We have been looking for a new home for some time, and this one meets all of our needs. It is a brick ranch style home, with 2 bedrooms and all the trimmings. There is a two car garage and also a separate shop building.
We have a barn with 4 huge horse stalls, and 2 chicken coops. The rest of the property is divided up into runs for the stalls and 2 large paddocks. We are working on an organic range management plan. We are planning to use either sheep or goats to control weeds rather than chemicals or a lawnmower.
It even helps us with our goal of being self sufficient. We are on a well, and have a fireplace that heats the whole house. WE even have a whole house generator. This will be a great new home for us to start our family in.
